As I've said on my previous article, the Vice Ganda-Pia Wurtzbach movie which is now titled The Revengers, is already sealed as a huge blockuster hit. The only problem it could have is a huge competition from Justice League which is just a week/2 weeks away from it. And that's even a question since both will target different audience. Now that it's entering MMFF 2017, it has already sealed another milestone: to be the highest grossing local movie of all time.

The Super Parental Guardians has currently the throne of being the highest grossing film. That movie opened on November 30 (Bonifacio Day) and didn't needed the help of Metro Manila cinemas during the Christmas season (they've already showed up on its first week of release) to continue its strong run. It has also extended its showing until January 2017 which has a weak slew of Hollywood/Local releases.

This time, The Revengers has a December 25 release date. With a huge amount of star power (Coco Martin is out but Daniel Padilla and Pia Wurtzbach are in) and ticket inflation, it has no problem of topping Parental Guardians. Pia Wurtzbach is not yet a box office draw but the buzz she can create with this is likely large enouch to fill power Mr. Martin brought in Guardians.

It's only problem could be a rising celebrity + already box office draw artist that will join Vic Sotto in his movie. This worked on My Little Bossings (Ryzza Mae Dizon plus Kris Aquino) and My Bebe Love (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza plus Ai Ai Delas Alas).

Other than that, there's no other problem I could see. The only question left would be: What if this turns out to be a pretty decent movie for everyone? If that happens, it can attract a wider demographic Vice Ganda never touched yet and that will give a smile to every single Filipino (critics, audience, and Star Cinema) this Christmas.
