Per Deadline ,  Monarch is described as a Texas-sized, multigenerational musical drama about America’s first family of country music, the Romans. The Romans are headed by the insanely talented, but tough as nails Queen of Country Music Dottie Cantrell Roman (Sarandon). Along with her beloved husband, Albie (Adkins), Dottie has created a country music dynasty. But even though the Roman name is synonymous with authenticity, the very foundation of their success is a lie. And when their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown Nicolette “Nicky” Roman (Friel) will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy, while ensuring her own quest for stardom. Pascual will portray Ace Grayson, a talented and sensitive 18 year-old, who was adopted from an orphanage by Nicky (Friel) and

And we have the results. During their virtual press conference on August 19, Viva Communications Inc. has reported that their streaming service Vivamax  has hit 600,000 subscribers since its launch last February 2021. It's not clear, however, if these are all active paying subscribers to the service. Despite this, it's a strong testament that the local-led streaming market is growing in the country.  The numbers are likely helped by the original content produced by the service that garnered controversies online such as Daryl Yap's Tililing  and Gusto Kong Maging Porn Star and it's choice to lean on more adult-face such as Taya  and 69+1 .  They have a long way to go though. The Janine Gutierrez-Paulo Avelino new romantic comedy series from ABS-CBN Entertainment did okay ratings for its pilot episode. Marry Me, Marry You  gathered a combined NUTAM people rating of 4.8%, 1 point lower than the show it preceded - Init Sa Magdamag which debuted to 5.8%.  The new series premiered last September 13 on A2Z,  Kapamilya Channel, and TV5 (Image from: IMDB) It can be argued, however, that 'Init sa Magdamag' enjoyed a stronger boost from its lead-in show Huwag Kang Mangamba  which scored 8.0% at that time whereas Marry Me, Marry You   experienced a lower lead-in rating as Mangamba  only managed to score 6.7%.  Audience retention was also stronger with the new Gutierrez-Avelino series since it only lost 1.9%. In comparison, Init Sa Magdamag lost 2.2%.  In other shows, GMA's 24 Oras  still leads primetime while Niña Niño from TV5 scored a strong 5.0% rating.
