The Super Parental Guardians  is undeniably another box office success from duo Vice Ganda and Coco Martin. Without opening on an MMFF season, the film has still managed to pull in a huge number that no MMFF movie this year can achieve and is still playing in theaters outside of Metro Manila. What does this mean to this year's MMFF entries and the whole box office in the country? First of all, Both  The Super Parental Guardians and Enteng Kabisote 10 were rejected from this year's MMFF. This lead them to releasing both movies on an earlier date. Releasing on Bonifacio Day was proven to be a success. Parental Guardians  broke the record for the biggest opening day gross for a local movie. And the movie continued to lead the box office until Rogue One started playing. Moana The good times at the box office keep rolling. Three films all reach huge milestones in the box office. Let's start the breakdown, Vice Ganda's The Super Parental Guardians  has now passed the PHP 300 million mark as of December 8 (5 PM). Of course, the movie remains the number one movie in the box office right now. With another weekend coming, expect another huge addition to its numbers. The only problem coming from this movie is next week's Rogue One which will eat a huge part of its screenings.  Another Star Cinema feature The Unmarried Wife  passed the PHP 200 million mark and is climbing to PHP 250 million. As of December 8, the adult drama has collected PHP 246.9 million in the box office. The Super Parental Guardians It's day four in the battle between between The Super Parental Guardians, Enteng Kabisote, and Moana and as expected, The Super Parental Guardians  continues to rule the box office.

The Super Parental Guardians UPDATE (12/9, 4:44 AM): Disney is reporting a huge PHP 24.9 million  first day gross for Moana, breaking the record of Minions  (PHP 22.9 million) for all time biggest opening day gross for an animated film in the country. To see who got the big portion of the gross, click  HERE , UPDATE (10/1, 7:57 PM): TV Patrol reports that Guardians opened to PHP 75 million on its first day, higher than the previously reported PHP 68 million. It's a very early Christmas for Star Cinema. The Super Parental Guardians  opened to a smashing PHP 75  68 million (according to Star Cinema). This beats My Bebe Love 's PHP 60 million opening last year as the highest grossing opening day gross. Enteng Kabisote 10 In a (not so for me) surprising turn of events, a Vice Ganda and a Vic Sotto movie didn't made the cut for this year's Metro Manila Film Festival. It's a bold move for the said festival since these two figures usually gives the biggest box office share. And for another surprising turn of events, these two are going to be released almost a month before the festival. The question now becomes: With Christmas Audience out of reach (for now) and Disney's  Moana  also in play (and holdovers  The Unmarried Wife  and  Fantastic Beasts ) how will these two fare outside MMFF?
