Box Office: Strong interest for the 'Gods of Egypt'; 'Always Be My Maybe' strong; 'Everything About Her' passes 140 million + likely inflated 'Zoolander No. 2' numbers

Box Office Mojo is reporting a PHP 115 million opening for Zoolander No. 2 but Deadline.com is reporting a $ 3.2 million (est. 140+ million) overseas gross of Zoolander No. 2 for this weekend so the numbers are likely to be inflated.

It may be the first 'flop' of 2016 but there is a strong interest here in the country for Gods of Egypt. The fantasy pic debuted at 1st place with PHP 81 million. That's a strong opening for an original pic here in the country. This proves that the reviews and negative buzz over the film didn't stop the moviegoers to watch the pic. Social engagement for the movie has been strong in the country.

Star Cinema's Always Be My Maybe also opened this week although BOM hasn't given a data on it but Star Cinema is reporting an PHP 8 million opening day gross. That puts its opening week gross to est. PHP 30-40 million. This is a strong opening considering the movie's tandem is new and is not as box-office healthy (Gerald Anderson and Meg Imperial).

Deadpool added PHP 22 million this week making its total cume to PHP 278 million in three weeks. Zootopia charmed PHP 11.68 million this week for a total of PHP 41.3 million in two weeks.

Adding PHP 101k this week, Vilma Santos-pic Everything About Her has passed PHP 140 million. That places it above her 2010s box office hits The Healing and In My Life.
