MMFF 2015 Forecast: Aldub & Vice's 'Phenomenal' battle: In which side will the 'Force' be?

UPDATE: MMFF results are here

The christmas season is here. As we all know, all foreign movies will be removed from the theaters (So watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens immediately!) because it's time for the annual Metro Manila Film Festival. The Philippine cinema has grown to a height that we have never expected 10 years ago. MMFF is one proof. And this year won't be different - 8 movies will fight for the audiences who annually goes to theaters every Christmas. The top choices will be: My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More! which stars the unexpected phenomenal 'Aldub' (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza) tandem with Ai Ai Delas Alas and Vic Sotto & Beauty and the Bestie which stars phenomenal box office star Vice Ganda and Coco Martin. Also, the romantic comedy movies All You Need is Pag-Ibig and Walang Forever are also strong contenders but both will be figthing for 3rd place. Who will be No. 1 this year? Will Vice continue his streak? or the force is with Aldub? or will Star Wars steal audiences (at 8 IMAX theaters)? Here's my forecast: (post-MMFF grosses are included)

1. My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More! - 480 million (up from 460 million)
2. Beauty and the Bestie - 420 million (down from 460 million)
3. All You Need is Pag-Ibig - 180 million
4. Walang Forever - 90 million
5. Buy Now, Die Later - 50 million
6. Haunted Mansion - 35 million
7. Honor thy Father - 30 million
8. Nilalang - 20 million

  1. Awww, Aldub is popular (not bankable) but let's see how Beauty and the Bestie ruffles dust to My Bebe Love. Jose Javier Reyes is a certified flop director while Vice Ganda is a consistent undisputed MMFF money charm. So-called Aldub Nation are only good in tweeting. It's all about the box office take and Star Cinema is best at it.

    1. Thanks for the comment! I thought that too! But the 50,000 arena they have filled is saying something. So basically, this is My Little Bossings vs. Girl Boy V.2 where Girl Boy played well in the long run
