'100 Tula Para Kay Stella' hits PHP 60 million in its first five days

The Philippine Cinema's hot streak continues. After the success of Kita Kita and Finally Found Someone, Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino begins its showings. Leading the pack is the Bela Padilla-JC Santos romantic movie 100 Tula Para Kay Stella.

Jason Paul Laxamana's romantic drama grossed PHP 60 million in its debut week. That's higher than the first five day gross of Kita Kita which collected PHP 50 million at the same point. This one is also getting huge buzz among its tagret demographic which is a good sign for it to leg out after the PPP season. A total north of PHP 150 million seems possible while recapturing the success of Kita Kita is uncertain at this point with strong competition coming in the next few weeks (although Kita Kita managed to break out amid strong competition with Finally Found).
