It's a calm in the box office before the storm comes (the trio consisting of The Fate of the Furious, Can't Help Falling in Love, & Boss Baby). Beauty and the Beast easily remained on the top position earning PHP 24.99 million this week.

The Emma Watson-Dan Stevens movie has now collected PHP 657 million in four weeks. Yesterday, I've reported that Disney has reported that the film is now at PHP 661 million and is now the highest grossing movie of all time in the country. It looks like Beast can add a few more millions before the end of its run.

Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson dropped 53 percent this week with PHP 16.94 million. In two weeks, the adaptation has now banked PHP 62.8 million.

Smurfs: The Lost Village took a slight drop this week. The animated movie grossed PHP 14.07 million which was just off 19 percent making a total of PHP 36.78 million in two weeks.

In fourth place, Power Rangers (2017) added PHP 9.2 million this week with a total of PHP 98 million. It will likely end its run with PHP 100 million which is an okay performance.

Life (2017)  tumbled 74.8 percent this week with PHP 0.58 million. The sci-fi thriller has now thrilled PHP 13.79 million.

This week sees the debut of three major movies on Black Saturday. Last year, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set the all time record for a single day gross which shows how strong opening a movie on this date.
