Quick Review: Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla carry forgettable 'Can't Help Falling in Love'

Here are my quick reviews for these movie/tv show along with my grade: 1. Can't Help Falling in Love  (2017, Romance) Review: Solid performances from Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla carried the forgettable plot of Can't Help Falling in Love . It has some pretty enjoyable moments and will surely please the fanbase. It's a kind of movie you will smile inside the theater and forget after leaving the theater. Grade 2.5/5 2. Kong: Skull Island (2017, Action) Review: It's kind of bold to see Kong take the famous brand to a different take. It is also worth noting the movie's music and cinematography which is unique for a generic blockbuster movie. You might only find something missing on the movie's characters. Overall this reboot is a fun, crazy, and solid adventure that leaves you wanting more (and yes, there's a crossover coming). Grade 3/5

Kathniel's power is back. Their latest romantic comedy Can't Help Falling in Love sets Black Saturday records with a PHP 33 million opening day gross. This is the highest opening gross for a local movie opening on a Black Saturday. This was previously held by John Lloyd Cruz-Sarah Geronimo three-quel It Takes A Man and A Woman  which opened to PHP 32.6 million four years ago. Meanwhile, Universal pic Fast and Furious 8 opened to strong numbers.

It's a calm in the box office before the storm comes (the trio consisting of  The Fate of the Furious, Can't Help Falling in Love, & Boss Baby ). Beauty and the Beast  easily remained on the top position earning PHP 24.99 million this week.

Which 2017 movie can step out 'Beauty and the Beast' as the country's highest grossing film?

Disney reports that the tale as old as time has now grossed PHP 667.46 million is now the highest grossing film of all time in the country beating last year's Captain America: Civil War . Every year, the country's all time highest grossing movie gets replaced. Can Beauty and the Beast  be beaten this year (again)? Here are the movies that has the potential to steal that record:
