MMFF 2015: 8-Day Total at PHP747 million with 'My Bebe Love' & 'Beauty and the Bestie in a tight race

The 8 Official Entries for the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival
The race continues at this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

UPDATE (1|03|16) - DAY 8: A lot of audiences return to cinemas on New Year Day. The 8th Day of the festival added an est. PHP 97 million bringing its total to PHP 737 million which is still up from last year and is on bound to beat the last year's 2 week total of PHP 1.01 billion. The top four films remains the same.

UPDATE (1|02|16) - DAY 7: One Week! Thursday showings added a low PHP 18 miilion. The total box office earnings of MMFF totaled up to PHP 640 million which is still up from last year while it may have a tough time beating last year's PHP 701 million 8-day total. Unsurprisingly, there are still no reports of gross per movie.

UPDATE (1|01|16, Happy New Year!) - DAY 6: MMFF is reporting that the festival has raked PHP 622 million in 6 days, higher than last year;s PHP 598 million at the same timeframe. The top four movies are (in no particular order):
1. My Bebe Love
2. Beauty and the Bestie
3. Haunted Mansion
4. Walang Forever

UPDATE (12|30|15, 7:09 PM) - DAY 5: MMFF 2015 has banked PHP 547 million which means the day added PHP 79 million for the festival.

UPDATE (12|30|15) - DAY  4: MMFF 2015 has collected in total of PHP 468 million. That's higher than last year which collected PHP 459 million at this point. Leading of is still My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More. No number has been given.but according to Marichu Vera Perez-Maceda (of ABSCBN), the gap between My Bebe Love and Beauty and the Bestie is only at PHP 1 million. If the source is true, this proves that like Vice Ganda's previous entries (most especially, Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy), Bestie has legs while My Bebe Love is front-loaded and is tracking My Little Bossings numbers. This might also be thanks to the word-of-mouth from the audiences. Compare to my previous forecast (which says that My Bebe Love will clearly be the front runner of this year's festival ), it is now unclear who will take the first position, and even the lower positions.

The Top 4 films (in no particular order)
1. My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More
2. Beauty and the  Bestie
3. All You Need is Pag-Ibig
4. Haunted Mansion

All You Need is Pag-Ibig enters the top 4. This is good for them despite their weak start. This also proves that it will be leggy. Haunted Mansion also stays in the Top 4 proving that it is the top horror choice for moviegoers.  Let's see if the awards for Walang Forever (including Best Picture, Best Actor & Actress and more) and Buy Now Die Later (2nd Best Picture) will help them boost to battle for higher positions. There is a buzz (Best Picture disqualification)  for Honor thy Father that might help it earn a little more (or to keep them in the screens). Winning awards about cinematography & effects, Nilalang might attract moviegoers who like good special effects (but not much).
